Core Banking Software Cost in India
Core banking software cost in India depends on a handful of choices, and the headline figure on a quotation tells you very little until you know what sits behind it. This guide explains what drives the price of a core banking system for a society, Nidhi or small lender, so you can compare quotes on the same footing.

What drives the cost
Two offices that both say “we need core banking” can need very different things. A single-branch Nidhi with deposits and loans is a smaller job than a society with several branches, agents in the field and a mobile app for members. The main drivers are these.
- Number of branches. Each branch adds users, day-end routines and reports.
- Modules. Deposits, loans and the general ledger are the base. Extras such as payment links, SMS, analytics or a member app add to the scope.
- Users and roles. More counters and approval levels mean more setup.
- Data migration. Moving years of records is real work; see our post on migrating to core banking software without losing data.
- Hosting. Cloud hosted and maintained by the vendor, or a server you look after yourself.
- Support and training. Phone support, on-site visits and staff training.
The Taxhint core banking system is cloud hosted. Its page lists savings, current, fixed, recurring and MIS deposits, loans, branch-wise operations, day-end controls and reports, among other things. The more of that list you actually use, the more your quote reflects it. If you are still choosing a product type, start with the buyer’s guide.
One-time and recurring charges
Most quotes mix two kinds of money. Mixing them up is how a cheap-looking offer becomes costly in year two.
| Type | Examples | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| One-time | Setup, data migration, training, customised print forms | What exactly is covered, and how many days of work? |
| Recurring | Hosting, maintenance, support, updates, SMS credits | What does it cost each year, and can it rise? |
| On request | New branch, new report, new integration | Is there a rate card for extras? |
Items that get left out of quotes
When two quotes differ a lot, the gap is usually in what was left out. Look for these.
- Data migration from the old system or spreadsheets.
- Training for the day-end operator and branch staff.
- Payment gateway, UPI or SMS charges, which may be billed by the provider.
- Customised forms, receipts and statutory report formats.
- Charges for adding a branch or a user later.
- Support hours. Is the phone answered on a collection day or only on weekdays?
How to compare two quotes
Take a sheet of paper and write the same rows for each vendor: modules included, branches, users, migration, training, hosting, support, yearly charges, and extras. Fill in every row. A blank is an unanswered question, so go back to the vendor. Then add up three years, not one. A quote that looks light in year one but charges heavily for every change can cost more by year three.
It also helps to know whether you need core banking at all. If you only run loans, a loan management system may be enough; read core banking vs loan management software and core banking software for societies and Nidhis before you ask for quotes. For a smaller society, the guide to credit society software cost may fit better.
What to check before you sign
- Get the quote in writing with every line itemised.
- Ask what happens to your data and to the price if you leave.
- Ask for a demo on a copy of your own data, not only the vendor’s sample.
- Check who owns the data, and in what format you can take it out.
- Show the quote to your CA. They will see audit and compliance needs that you may miss.
We do not print prices in blog posts because the right figure depends on your branches and modules. Ask us for a quote and we will price your actual setup.

FAQs
Is core banking software priced per user or per branch?
Vendors differ. Some price by branch, some by number of users or accounts, and some bundle everything. Ask which unit your quote is based on, and what happens to the price when you add a branch.
Does cloud hosting cost less than an on-premise setup?
It usually removes the server, backup and upkeep cost from your side, but the vendor’s charges replace it. Compare the full cost over several years, not just the first invoice.
Are SMS and payment integrations included?
Often they are separate lines. SMS needs message credits and payment gateways may carry their own charges, so ask for these to be listed in the quote.
Can Taxhint give a price over the phone?
The cost depends on branches, modules and data to be moved, so we ask for those details first. Call +91 93117 95484 or write to mail@taxhint.in and ask us for a quote.
