What it is

NASSCOM is the trade association of India’s IT-BPM and technology sector. NASSCOM membership gives a company access to its research, networking events and industry programmes, and a recognised name on its member list. It is voluntary. No law requires it. It is not a licence or a government registration.

Some companies join for credibility with clients and investors, some for events and market data, others to be part of policy conversations. Whatever the reason, the first job is the same: place your company in the right category and send a clean application.

Our role is practical. We confirm your category, collect the documents, prepare and submit the application, and handle follow-up questions. We are not a NASSCOM partner, and NASSCOM alone decides on membership, category and fee. If the company also needs ongoing accounts and filings once it grows, our compliance and accounting management service covers that side.

Who it applies to

Regular members

IT-BPM organisations registered in India with annual revenue above ₹2 crore. The fee depends on your revenue band.

Associate members

IT-BPM startups whose annual revenue does not exceed ₹2 crore. This is the usual starting point for early-stage product and services startups.

Institutional members

Service providers to the IT-BPM sector, such as financial institutions, venture capital firms, research bodies, infrastructure and real estate providers and management consultants.

Why it matters

Visibility with buyers

A member listing and NASSCOM events put you in front of enterprise buyers, partners and investors.

Research and market data

Members get access to industry research and trend insights that are costly to buy separately.

Networking and programmes

Events and forums let you meet peers, mentors and customers across India’s technology economy.

How it works

1

Pin down your category

We read your revenue and business against NASSCOM’s published categories: Associate, Emerging, Growth, Large or Institutional.

2

Run the fee calculator first

NASSCOM publishes a membership fee calculator on its site. We enter your figures and tell you the amount before you apply, since the fee follows your revenue band.

3

Submit a complete application

We fill in the form, attach the documents and submit it. Applications with incomplete documents are rejected, so we check everything first.

4

Stay ready for NASSCOM’s questions

NASSCOM says it may run due diligence through a call or visit. We keep your team briefed and respond to any follow-up.

Timelines

Preparing the application

One to three working days once your documents and revenue proof are ready.

NASSCOM processing

NASSCOM says membership takes 10-15 working days to process.

Group companies

Subsidiaries registered as separate entities must apply on their own, so plan for one application per entity.

What happens if the application is incomplete

Rejection

NASSCOM rejects applications with incomplete documentation. You would have to reapply.

Wrong category

A wrong revenue figure can put you in the wrong band, and the fee changes with the band. We check the number against your accounts.

Delay

A missed call from the due diligence team can hold up the decision. We keep one contact person ready.

Membership categories at a glance

NASSCOM sorts members by revenue. Fee amounts are on its calculator, not here, because they change.

Is it right for your company?

Join if you sell to enterprise clients, want a recognised industry listing, or plan to use NASSCOM’s research and events. A Faridabad software services company bidding for larger clients may find the member badge helps in conversations. A two-person SaaS startup may get more from the Associate category’s events and networking.

Hold off if you only need a government benefit. For tax and funding benefits, look at Startup India registration instead, and make sure the company itself is properly set up first. If you are still a proprietor, our private limited company registration service is the usual first step, because NASSCOM categories are built around registered companies.

Think about cost and time too. The fee is paid for each membership term, so check the renewal terms on NASSCOM’s site, and the benefit depends on how actively your team uses events and research. We help you weigh this before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

What is NASSCOM membership?

It is voluntary membership of NASSCOM, the industry association for India’s IT-BPM and technology sector. Members get research, networking, events and a place on the member list. It is not a licence or a government registration. We prepare your application and track it to a decision.

Who can become a NASSCOM member?

IT-BPM organisations registered in India can apply as Regular members above ₹2 crore revenue, or as Associate members if they are startups at or below ₹2 crore. Service providers to the sector can join as Institutional members. We check which category fits your company before applying.

How much does NASSCOM membership cost?

The fee depends on your revenue band, and NASSCOM publishes a calculator on its site. We do not quote a fixed amount here because the figure changes with your revenue and NASSCOM’s current schedule. Share your revenue and we will run the calculation and tell you before you apply.

How long does the process take?

NASSCOM says it takes 10-15 working days to process a membership application. The clock runs from a complete application, so incomplete papers cost time. We usually prepare the file in one to three working days when documents are ready.

Is NASSCOM membership mandatory for IT companies?

No. It is voluntary, and no law or licence needs it. Companies join for credibility, research, events and networking. If your main goal is a government benefit, a different registration may serve you better, such as Startup India or Udyam.

Can a startup join NASSCOM?

Yes. IT-BPM startups with annual revenue not exceeding ₹2 crore can apply as Associate members. A new startup should still show its incorporation and business profile. We prepare the profile and the revenue proof, so the application reaches NASSCOM complete.

Do subsidiaries need separate membership?

Yes. NASSCOM says subsidiary companies registered as separate entities must register independently. If you run a group, plan an application for each entity. We can prepare them together, so the documents stay consistent and the revenue figures match across the group.

Will NASSCOM contact us during the process?

It may. NASSCOM says its due diligence can include a personal visit or telephonic discussion. Keep one informed contact person ready. We brief your team on what to expect and follow up if the decision is slow.
