Gold Loan Software Cost in India

Gold loan software cost in India is not one number. Two offices with the same number of loans can get very different quotes, because the price depends on how many branches you run, who uses the system, where it is hosted and what comes built in. This post lists what moves the price and what to ask before you compare quotes.

In this guide

What drives the cost

Start with your own office, not the vendor’s brochure. A single-counter jeweller-lender with one cashier needs very little. A lender with six branches, a vault in each and a dozen staff on different access levels needs a lot more, and the quote will show it.

  • Number of branches and counters.
  • Number of users, and how finely you want to control what each can do.
  • Number of live loans and years of old data to bring in.
  • Apps for field staff or for customers.
  • Verification, payment and messaging services connected to the system.
  • Print forms and reports built to your format.

The more you can describe these in plain numbers, the closer the quote will be to reality. Our guide to what to look for in gold loan software helps you decide which of these you really need.

How vendors price

You will meet two broad styles. A one-time licence means a larger payment at the start, with a yearly charge for support and updates. A subscription spreads the cost over months or years and usually includes hosting. Neither is cheaper by nature. Over three or four years, add up everything you would pay under each and compare that total.

Our gold loan management software is cloud hosted and maintained, so you do not run a server. Price depends on your set-up, so ask us for a quote rather than guess from a list.

Cost items to ask about

ItemWhat to ask
Software licence or subscriptionWhat period does it cover, and what happens at renewal?
HostingIs it included, and who takes backups?
Extra branches and usersIs there a charge each time you add one?
AppsAre the collection and customer apps part of the price?
Verification and payment servicesAre provider charges separate?
Data migrationWho loads your open loans, and is it charged?
Training and supportHow long, how fast, and in which language?

Costs people forget

The bill that surprises owners is rarely the licence. It is the month of double entry while old and new systems run side by side, the staff time spent on training, the hardware at each counter, and the printer for packet tags and receipts. If you plan a switch from registers or Excel, the same migration questions we cover in moving a society from Excel to software apply to a gold loan book as well.

Also count what a bad system costs: a missed interest accrual, a renewal done at the wrong rate, a packet that cannot be traced. Those are more expensive than any subscription.

How to compare two quotes

  1. Write down your branches, users, live loans and the apps you want.
  2. Send the same list to every vendor.
  3. Ask each to say in writing what is included and what is extra.
  4. Convert both to a three-year total.
  5. Check the same features side by side: interest by scheme, renewal, part release, overdue notices, vault log.
  6. Ask for a live demo on your own sample data before you decide.

The same approach works for other lending software, as in our posts on microfinance software cost and credit society software cost. For the full picture across lenders, see the buyer’s guide to loan management software.

What to check in a demo

  • Enter a pledge with ornament weights, purity and a packet photo.
  • Run a renewal and a part release and read the interest it works out.
  • Open the overdue list and the reports you will give your auditor.
  • Ask which items on screen are included in the quote and which are not.
  • Test the access rights by logging in as a counter clerk.

FAQs

Is gold loan software priced per branch or per user?

Vendors differ. Some charge by branch, some by user count, some by both, so ask exactly what your quote covers and what changes when you add a counter.

Should I pick a cloud or an on-premise system?

Cloud saves you the server, the backups and the upgrades, though you pay for it over time. On-premise needs your own hardware and someone to look after it.

Are Aadhaar, PAN and credit checks included in the price?

Do not assume so. Ask which checks are built in and whether any carry a separate charge from the provider.
