Microfinance Software Cost in India
Microfinance software price depends on a handful of things you can list before you call any vendor, and a quote means little until you have listed them. Owners often ask for a single number, but a six-branch JLG lender with field agents and a one-branch society with a counter are buying very different systems. This post explains what drives the cost and how to compare quotes without being misled.

What drives microfinance software cost
We do not quote prices in a blog post, and you should be wary of any article that does, because the same software costs different amounts for different offices. What we can tell you is what moves the number.
- Branches. A head office with five branches needs branch-wise accounts, rights and reports. The Taxhint microfinance software page lists multiple branch creation with branch-wise accounts.
- Users. Loan officers, branch managers, accountants and auditors all need different rights.
- Products. Group loans, individual loans, savings or recurring deposits, share capital. More products mean more setup.
- Apps. The page lists a collection app, user app and member app. Each one is a separate piece of work for the vendor.
- Integrations. SMS, WhatsApp, payment gateway, QR payments, AEPS, NACH and verification services each connect to outside services.
- Reports. Statutory and RBI-style reports depend on your entity type.
- Hosting and support. Cloud hosting, backups and support hours are real running costs.

Cost lines to look for in a quote
A fair quote breaks the number into lines. If a vendor gives you one lump sum with no detail, ask for the breakup. Here is what the lines usually look like:
| Line | One-time or recurring | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Software licence or subscription | Either, depending on the vendor | What exactly is included, and for how many branches and users |
| Hosting and backup | Recurring | Who owns the data, and how do we export it |
| Mobile apps | Included or add-on | Is each app in the quote by name |
| Data migration | One-time | Opening balances, loan history, member records |
| Training | One-time | How many sessions, for which staff |
| Support and updates | Recurring | Hours, channels, and who pays for new reports |
| Customisation | Per request | Print forms, special reports, extra fields |
Costs people forget
The software line is rarely the one that hurts. Three others catch offices out.
Migration. If your loan history is in Excel, someone has to clean it and load it. Our credit society software cost post goes through this in the society context, and the same logic applies to a microfinance book.
Staff time. A collection agent who needs two weeks to get comfortable with a new app loses collection days. Plan a pilot with one centre first.
Rework from bad data. If KYC and borrower entries are sloppy, you pay later in reports that do not tally. Cheap software that produces unreliable reports is not cheap.
Also think about what you will lose by staying where you are: late month-end closing, double entry between the field register and the ledger, and staff who leave with the only copy of the data on a phone.
How to compare two quotes
- Write one requirement sheet: branches, users, products, apps, integrations, reports.
- Send the same sheet to every vendor, so the quotes cover the same scope.
- Put the quotes side by side in a table, line by line, and mark what is missing in each.
- Ask what is charged for year two, not just year one.
- Ask for a live demo on your sample data before you negotiate on price.
A lower quote that leaves out the collection app, hosting or migration is often higher once you add them back.
What to check before you sign
- Every module, app and integration you need is named in the quote.
- You can see group lending, centre meetings and field collection working in the demo.
- You can export your data in a usable format if you ever leave.
- Support timings suit your field hours, including early mornings.
- Your CA has looked at the reports for your entity type.

FAQs
What is the price of microfinance software in India?
There is no single price, because it moves with branches, users, modules, apps and hosting. We do not publish a figure here; ask us for a quote based on your own setup.
Is cloud microfinance software cheaper than installing it on our own server?
Not always, but the costs are easier to see. A cloud system removes your server, backup and technician cost, while a local install moves those costs onto you.
Do field apps cost extra?
Some vendors price the collection app, member app or user app as add-ons, others include them. Ask for each app by name in the quote.
What should be in writing before we sign?
Modules included, number of branches and users, hosting, support hours, data migration, training and what happens to renewal terms. Anything said on a call should be in the quote.
