Built-in Checks and Integrations: Payment, Bureau and Bank APIs
Loan software API integration sounds like something for the IT department, but at the counter it means a simple thing: the system checks a PAN, takes a payment or reads a bank statement without your clerk copying numbers from one screen to another. Our buyer’s guide to loan and society software lists these checks as a basic expectation, so here is how they work day to day.

What built-in checks and integrations are
An integration is a connection between your loan software and an outside service. The software sends a request, the service replies, and the answer lands in the borrower’s file. Nobody retypes anything.
The microfinance software page lists the ones we offer: Aadhaar and PAN verification, CIBIL score check and upload, a bank statement analyser, C-KYC upload, payment gateway with QR payment, NACH and e-mandate, AEPS, and SMS, email and WhatsApp messaging. Which ones you get depends on the modules you take, so ask for the exact list.
- Identity checks: PAN and Aadhaar verification at intake.
- Credit checks: a bureau score pulled or uploaded into the file.
- Money in: gateway, QR, NACH and e-mandate for repayments.
- Money out and cash: AEPS, covered in AEPS and digital payments for societies.
How to use it
Take a new borrower from enquiry to first instalment and you will touch most of these.
- Intake clerk: enter the PAN and Aadhaar details and run the verification. A mismatch in name shows up right there, while the customer is still at the desk.
- Credit officer: pull the bureau score or upload the report into the file, then note it in the appraisal.
- Credit officer: for salaried or business borrowers, upload the bank statement to the analyser instead of adding up credits by hand.
- Manager: after sanction, set up the repayment mode: e-mandate or NACH for fixed debits, or a QR code and gateway link for borrowers who pay when they can.
- Cashier or agent: record a payment that arrives online against the loan, and match it with the bank credit at day end.
- Accountant: check that every gateway settlement agrees with the bank statement before the books close.
The KYC side is covered in more detail in member and borrower KYC.
How it helps the business
The gain is less rework and fewer unexplained entries. A clerk who used to key a PAN twice, once on paper and once in the system, now does it once. A payment that comes in by QR at 9 pm is already in the account the next morning, with a reference attached.
Three numbers are worth watching after you go live:
- Applications returned for wrong or missing KYC. It should fall once checks happen at intake.
- Unreconciled receipts at day end. Online money with no matching loan entry is where small leaks start.
- Bounced mandate debits. If these stay high, the problem is usually the repayment date chosen, not the software.
Accounting entries from these receipts feed your books, which is the subject of accounting, Tally and GST integration.
Common mistakes
- Treating a bureau score as the decision. It is one input; your own appraisal still counts.
- Letting staff skip the verification step “just this once” for a known customer. Then the file has a gap at audit.
- Collecting online payments but not reconciling them daily, so the difference piles up for a month.
- Assuming every integration is included. Gateways, messaging and bureau access often carry charges from the outside provider.
- Ignoring consent. Follow current law and your regulator on what you may collect and store, and confirm with your CA.
What to check in a demo
Ask the vendor to run a live case, not a slide.
- Verify a real PAN in front of you. What does a failure message look like?
- Show a bureau score going into a file. Who can see it afterwards?
- Take a QR payment and show where it posts, and what happens if the borrower pays twice.
- Show a mandate set-up and a bounced debit.
- Which integrations are included in the quote and which cost extra? Ask us for a quote and get this in writing.
- What happens to your work if an outside service is down for an hour?

FAQs
What does loan software API integration mean?
It means your loan software talks directly to outside services such as PAN verification, a bureau, a payment gateway or a bank. The result appears in the borrower file without manual entry.
Does a bureau score decide whether I should lend?
No. It is one input next to your own appraisal, repayment history and security. Set your own policy and keep it consistent.
Are all integrations included in the software price?
Not always, since outside providers may charge per check or per transaction. Ask us for a quote and have the included list written down.
Can I use these checks if I am a society or a Nidhi?
The software can run the checks, but what you may lend and to whom is set by your own Act or Rules. Check the current provisions with your CA.
