GST Registration in Faridabad
GST registration in Faridabad is applied for online on the GST portal, but the application lands with a Haryana Excise and Taxation ward in Faridabad, and you may be called to Sector 12 for a biometric check. You must apply within 30 days of crossing ₹40 lakh turnover for goods or ₹20 lakh for services. The full national process is on our GST registration page; this one covers what is different here.
What it is
GST registration gives your business a 15-digit GSTIN. For a Faridabad business it starts with 06, Haryana’s state code, followed by your PAN. With it you can charge GST, claim input tax credit and generate e-way bills for goods leaving your godown.
The law is Section 22 and Section 25 of the CGST Act, 2017, read with the Haryana GST Act, 2017. State tax in Faridabad is run by the Excise and Taxation Department, Haryana, which splits the district into Faridabad East, North, South and West, with 40 wards between them. Some GSTINs are allotted to the central side instead, under CGST Faridabad.
Who it applies to
Turnover above the limit
Haryana is a normal-category state, so the limit is ₹40 lakh a year for supplying goods only and ₹20 lakh for services. Cross it and you have 30 days to apply.
Anyone selling across state lines
A Ballabgarh workshop sending parts to a buyer in Noida or Alwar makes an inter-state supply of goods. That needs registration from the first sale, whatever the turnover.
Online sellers and B2B suppliers
Most sellers on e-commerce marketplaces need registration from the start. So, in practice, do small units whose buyers want GST invoices to claim credit.

How it works
Choose normal or Rule 14A
We check your turnover, customers and supplies, and decide between normal registration and the Rule 14A route.
File Form REG-01
We file Part A and Part B on the GST portal with your HSN or service codes and the address proofs. You complete the Aadhaar OTP.
Attend the biometric slot if flagged
If the portal flags you, you book a slot at the GST Suvidha Kendra in Sector 12 and carry original documents. One of our team can come along.
Answer the ward officer’s queries
The proper officer may raise a query in REG-03 or visit the premises. We reply in REG-04 and follow up with the ward until the certificate is issued.
Normal registration or Rule 14A?
| Point | Normal (Rule 9) | Simplified (Rule 14A) |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Any applicant | Output tax on supplies to registered buyers up to ₹2.5 lakh a month |
| Approval | 7 working days; up to 30 days with physical verification | 3 working days after Aadhaar authentication and risk check |
| Later | No change needed | Exit through REG-32 if B2B tax crosses ₹2.5 lakh a month |
Rule 14A started on 1 November 2025 (Notification 18/2025–Central Tax). Take a job worker in Mujesar doing plating for two or three local factories: small, steady B2B tax, a good fit. A supplier about to sign a large OEM contract is better off on the normal route from day one, rather than exiting through REG-32 a few months later.
The Sector 12 visit and working with us
Haryana switched on biometric Aadhaar checks for GST applicants on 7 December 2024. For Faridabad, all four zones use the facilitation centre at the Excise and Taxation office, behind the District Court, Sector 12, Faridabad 121007. Not every applicant is called. Those who are must go in person with original PAN, Aadhaar and the documents uploaded.
Here is the catch. Most rejections come from small mismatches: the board outside says one name, the rent agreement another, and the electricity bill a third. A tenant in a Sector 7 market whose landlord’s bill is still in his late father’s name is a common example. We sort that out before filing. You can bring papers to our office at B-363-365, Second Floor, BK Chowk, which is open 24 hours, or send them on WhatsApp and sign with Aadhaar OTP.

Under Section 122, failing to register when liable draws a penalty of ₹10,000 or the tax evaded, whichever is higher.
Lost buyers and stuck goods
B2B customers cannot claim credit on your bills, and goods moving without a valid e-way bill can be detained on the road.
Frequently asked questions
What is the GST registration limit for a Faridabad business?
The limit is ₹40 lakh of annual turnover if you supply only goods and ₹20 lakh if you supply services, because Haryana is a normal-category state. The limit counts aggregate turnover across India on the same PAN. The limit does not help if you sell goods to other states, which needs registration from the first sale, and most e-commerce sellers must register too.
Where is the GST Suvidha Kendra for biometric verification in Faridabad?
It is at the Excise and Taxation Department office, behind the District Court, Sector 12, Faridabad 121007. Haryana notified it on 6 December 2024 for all four Faridabad zones. You go only if the portal asks for biometric authentication, and you carry original PAN, Aadhaar and the documents you uploaded. Book the slot from the link the portal sends.
How long does GST registration take in Faridabad?
Normal registration is approved within 7 working days when Aadhaar authentication succeeds and there is no query. If the officer orders physical verification or biometric authentication is needed, it can take up to 30 days. Under Rule 14A, eligible small B2B suppliers get registration within 3 working days. Clean documents are the biggest factor in staying on the short side.
Is there a government fee for GST registration?
No, the GST portal charges nothing for registration, whether normal or under Rule 14A. Your costs are only professional fees and, if you need one, a digital signature for a company or LLP. Proprietors and partnerships can sign with Aadhaar OTP instead. Our quote covers filing, query replies and the biometric visit if you want us there.
Can I register GST at my home address in Faridabad?
Yes, your home can be the principal place of business if you really run the business from there. Upload a recent electricity bill or property tax receipt, and the owner’s consent if the house is in a family member’s name. If goods are stored elsewhere, such as a rented godown in Sector 24, add it as an additional place of business.
Which GST officer will handle my registration?
Your application goes to the ward that covers your address, in Faridabad East, North, South or West, or to the central side under CGST Faridabad. The allocation is done by the system. Whoever is assigned is your proper officer for queries and later notices, so it helps to keep the address and records consistent from day one.
What if the officer rejects my GST application?
You can apply again with the defects fixed, which is usually quicker than appealing. Rejections in Faridabad mostly follow an unanswered REG-03 query, a mismatch between the bill and the rent agreement, or a failed site visit. We read the rejection order, correct the papers, and refile, so the second application normally goes through.
I have shops in Faridabad and Gurugram. Do I need two registrations?
No, both are in Haryana, so one GSTIN covers them. Add the Gurugram shop as an additional place of business on the same registration. You need a separate GSTIN only for a place of business in another state, such as a branch in Delhi or Noida. Each state registration then files its own returns.
What it costs
Our fee plus the government fee that applies to your case, quoted before you commit. Tell us the situation and we will price it exactly.
The GST portal charges no government fee for registration.
