GST Registration in Noida

Most Noida businesses need a GSTIN once turnover passes ₹40 lakh for goods or ₹20 lakh for services, but a trader sending goods across the border to Delhi needs one from the first such sale. Your GSTIN will begin with 09, the Uttar Pradesh code. Read our main GST registration page for the full process; here we cover what changes for Noida.

What it is

GST registration gives you a 15-digit GSTIN. With it you can charge GST on invoices, claim credit for GST you pay on purchases, and appear as a valid supplier when a buyer checks your number.

Two laws apply in Noida: the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 and the Uttar Pradesh GST Act, 2017. Section 22 sets the turnover limits, Section 24 lists cases that must register at any turnover, and Section 25 gives you 30 days from the date you become liable. The application is Form GST REG-01 on the GST portal. Our GST registration service walks through it field by field.

Which GST office handles a Noida registration

Uttar Pradesh is a normal-category state, so the standard limits apply. After approval, each taxpayer is assigned to either the Centre or the State for administration. The portal picks the jurisdiction from your PIN code; you do not choose it.

In practice, the office shown on your certificate (Form GST REG-06) is the one that will send queries, order physical verification and handle amendments later. A Greater Noida factory and a Sector 63 agency can land with different offices, even on the same day.

Who it applies to

Traders selling into Delhi

A shop in Sector 18 or a distributor in Hoshiarpur that delivers goods to a buyer in Mayur Vihar is making an inter-state supply. Section 24 makes registration compulsory for that, whatever the turnover.

Electronics and component units

Manufacturers in Phase II, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway belt selling to large assemblers who insist on a GSTIN.

IT firms and agencies

Software, BPO and digital agencies in Sector 62, 63 and 125 crossing ₹20 lakh, or exporting services and wanting to bill under LUT.

Why it matters

Stay on the buyer’s vendor list

A Noida assembler can claim input tax credit only on invoices from a registered supplier, so an unregistered vendor gets dropped.

Recover GST on your costs

GST on machinery, factory rent and components can be set off against the GST you collect on sales.

Zero-rated supplies

Exports and supplies to SEZ units, such as those in the Noida SEZ, can go out under an LUT without paying IGST first.

Documents required

The business

  • PAN of the business
  • Incorporation certificate or partnership deed, if any
  • Cancelled cheque or bank statement

Owners and signatory

  • PAN and Aadhaar of proprietor, partners or directors
  • Photograph
  • Mobile linked to Aadhaar

Noida premises

  • Rent agreement, or lease deed if owned
  • Owner’s consent letter
  • Recent electricity bill

How it works

1

Map where your goods go

We list your buyers by state. If even one consignment crosses into Delhi or Haryana, registration is due before that sale.

2

File REG-01 with your Noida PIN code

Part A verifies PAN, mobile and email. Part B carries HSN or SAC codes, the Noida address with PIN code and uploaded proofs.

3

Authenticate the promoters

Aadhaar OTP for each promoter. If the portal flags the case, it emails a link to book biometric verification at a GST Suvidha Kendra.

4

Answer queries and collect REG-06

We reply to any clarification notice on time and download the certificate once approved.

Timelines

Applying

Within 30 days of becoming liable, under Section 25(1). For inter-state goods, before the first such supply.

Approval

Usually 7 working days. Up to 30 days if Aadhaar authentication is skipped or physical verification is ordered (Rule 9).

First return

GSTR-3B by the 20th of the next month, or by the 24th after the quarter for Uttar Pradesh taxpayers in QRMP.

What happens if you trade without GST

Tax on past sales

The officer can demand GST on sales already made, with interest under Section 50, even though you never charged it.

Penalty

Under Section 73, 10% of the tax or ₹10,000, whichever is higher.

Goods held up

Inter-state consignments need e-way bills tied to a GSTIN, so trucks to Delhi or Haryana face problems without one.

Frequently asked questions

What is the GST registration limit in Noida?

It is ₹40 lakh of aggregate turnover a year if you supply only goods and ₹20 lakh if you supply services. Uttar Pradesh is a normal-category state, so these standard limits apply in Noida and Greater Noida. Some cases must register from the first sale whatever the turnover, such as inter-state suppliers of goods and e-commerce sellers shipping goods to other states. We check which rule covers you before you apply.

I sell goods from Noida to buyers in Delhi. Do I need GST below ₹40 lakh?

Yes. Here is the catch: a sale of goods from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi is an inter-state supply, and Section 24 makes registration compulsory for that regardless of turnover. It does not matter that the buyer is only a few kilometres away across the border. Small Noida traders often miss this. Register before the first delivery and the e-way bills follow easily.

My IT services clients are in Delhi and Gurugram. Same rule?

No, services are treated differently. A supplier making inter-state supplies of taxable services is exempt from compulsory registration while aggregate turnover stays within ₹20 lakh. Once you cross ₹20 lakh you must register within 30 days. Many corporate clients still ask for a GSTIN earlier, and voluntary registration is allowed. We will show you whether registering now helps or hurts your pricing.

Which GST office will handle my Noida registration?

Your registration goes either to the Central GST Commissionerate, Gautam Buddh Nagar, or to the Uttar Pradesh state tax department. The portal assigns it from your address and PIN code, and the office appears on Form GST REG-06. Queries, physical verification and amendments later come from that officer. All dealings happen on the GST portal, so you rarely need to visit.

We have a factory in Greater Noida and a warehouse in Ghaziabad. One GSTIN or two?

One GSTIN is enough, because both places are in Uttar Pradesh. The factory becomes the principal place of business and the Ghaziabad warehouse is added as an additional place of business in the same registration. A godown in Delhi would be different, as GST registration is state-wise, so it would need a separate Delhi GSTIN. We set this up in the first application.

We supply components to a unit in the Noida SEZ. Do we charge GST?

A supply to an SEZ unit or developer is a zero-rated supply under Section 16 of the IGST Act, 2017. You can make it without paying IGST by filing an LUT, or pay IGST and claim a refund. Either way you need GST registration first, and the SEZ unit’s paperwork must support the supply. We help with both the registration and the LUT.

Will I need to go for biometric verification?

Only if the GST portal flags your application on risk parameters. In that case you receive an email with a link to book a slot at a GST Suvidha Kendra, where you carry the appointment email, Aadhaar and original documents. Most applications are cleared by Aadhaar OTP alone. If a slot is needed, we tell you exactly what to take so one visit is enough.

Do I need to visit your office in Faridabad?

No, Noida clients finish GST registration with us entirely online. You share documents by email or WhatsApp and approve OTPs on your phone. If you would rather meet, our office is at B-363-365, Second Floor, BK Chowk, Faridabad, Haryana 121001, and our phone line +91 93117 95484 is answered 24 hours.
