ITR Filing in Noida
The 31 July 2026 date for most salaried returns has passed, but a belated return for FY 2025-26 can still be filed until 31 December 2026, with a late fee. We file returns for Noida and Greater Noida employees, flat owners and business owners on the Income Tax e-filing portal, fully online. Every ITR form is explained on our main income tax return filing page.
What it is
Your income tax return tells the department what you earned in the year, what tax was already cut or paid, and whether you owe more or are owed a refund. FY 2025-26 returns are still governed by the Income-tax Act, 1961; the Income-tax Act, 2025 begins with tax year 2026-27.
The filing happens on the Income Tax e-filing portal. You pick the right form, match it with Form 16, AIS and Form 26AS, file, and e-verify within 30 days. Our complete ITR filing service sets out which form suits which taxpayer. Below are the Noida cases we see most.
Noida situations that change the return
Where you rent decides HRA
Under the old regime, the 50% HRA limit applies only when the rented house is in a listed metro. Noida is not one. Two colleagues on the same floor can get different answers. An employee in Sector 62 who rents in Indirapuram works with 40%; one who rents in Mayur Vihar uses 50%, since the house is in Delhi.
No professional tax in UP
Uttar Pradesh does not levy professional tax, so a Noida Form 16 shows none. If an earlier employer in a PT state deducted it this year, that amount is still a deduction under the old regime.
Selling a flat in Noida
A flat held over 24 months gives long-term gain. For a flat bought before 23 July 2024, a resident individual pays the lower of 12.5% without indexation or 20% with it. That return goes in ITR-2.
Who it applies to
IT and corporate employees
Staff of companies in Sector 62, 125, 126 and 132 whose income is above the ₹4 lakh basic exemption under the new regime, or who want TDS back.
Landlords of investment flats
People who let out a flat in Greater Noida West or along the Expressway. Rent is taxed after a flat 30% deduction under Section 24(a).
Traders and small manufacturers
Business owners in Sector 18, Phase II or Greater Noida filing ITR-3, or ITR-4 under presumptive taxation. If a tax audit applies, our tax audit team handles it.
Why it matters
Your refund waits on it
Excess TDS comes back only after a filed, verified return, and only to a pre-validated bank account.
Home loans need it
Banks financing a Noida flat usually ask for two or three years of ITR acknowledgements.
Losses carry forward
A capital loss on shares or property carries forward for eight years, but only if the return was filed on time.

What happens if you miss it
Pay a late fee
₹5,000 under Section 234F, or ₹1,000 where total income is up to ₹5 lakh.
Lose the old regime
A non-business taxpayer filing after the due date cannot pick the old regime, so HRA and 80C claims are lost.
Lose carry-forward of losses
Business and capital losses in a belated return cannot be carried forward.
Frequently asked questions
I missed 31 July. Can I still file from Noida?
Yes, a belated return for FY 2025-26 is open until 31 December 2026. The late fee under Section 234F is ₹5,000, or ₹1,000 if your total income is up to ₹5 lakh, plus interest on any unpaid tax. You lose the old regime if you have no business income, and some losses cannot be carried forward. A refund is still paid once the return is processed.
Is Noida a metro city for HRA?
No, Noida is not on the metro list, so the HRA cap is 40% of salary under the old regime. What counts is where the rented house is, not where your office is. If you work in Noida but rent in Delhi, the 50% limit applies. If you rent in Noida, Greater Noida or Ghaziabad, it is 40%. We apply the right limit from your rent agreement.
I sold my Noida flat this year. Which ITR do I file?
ITR-2, or ITR-3 if you also run a business. ITR-1 does not cover capital gains on property. A flat held over 24 months gives long-term gain. If bought before 23 July 2024, you pay the lower of 12.5% without indexation or 20% with it. Section 54 or 54EC can save tax when the gain is reinvested in time.
The buyer deducted 1% TDS on my flat. How do I get credit?
The buyer deducts 1% under Section 194-IA when the price is ₹50 lakh or more, and gives you Form 16B. That TDS shows in your Form 26AS and AIS under your PAN. We claim it in the return against the capital gains tax. If the buyer has not deposited it or quoted a wrong PAN, we help you get it corrected first.
I rent out a flat in Greater Noida West. Can I use ITR-1?
Yes, if your total income is within ₹50 lakh and you have no capital gains beyond the small listed-equity limit. From AY 2026-27, ITR-1 allows up to two house properties. Rent is taxed after municipal taxes paid and a 30% standard deduction under Section 24(a). Home loan interest on a let-out flat is also deductible, subject to the old or new regime rules.
Should a Noida salaried employee choose the new regime?
Often, yes. Under the new regime, income up to ₹12 lakh is effectively tax-free through the Section 87A rebate of up to ₹60,000, plus a standard deduction of ₹75,000 for salaried people. The old regime can still win with large HRA, home loan interest and 80C claims. We work out both, using your actual numbers, before you decide.
Do I need to visit your office?
No, Noida clients file with us online from start to finish. You share documents by email or WhatsApp and e-verify on your phone. Our only office is in Faridabad, at B-363-365, Second Floor, BK Chowk, Faridabad, Haryana 121001, and you are welcome to visit. The line +91 93117 95484 is answered 24 hours, so call ahead and the right person will be there.
I spotted a mistake after filing. Can I fix it?
Yes, file a revised return. For FY 2025-26 you can revise until 31 March 2027. A revised return filed after 31 December 2026 attracts a fee under Section 234I of ₹1,000 if income is up to ₹5 lakh, otherwise ₹5,000. If the department has sent a defect notice under Section 139(9), we reply to that instead. Either way, the error can be fixed.
What it costs
Our fee plus the government fee that applies to your case, quoted before you commit. Tell us the situation and we will price it exactly.
No government fee applies to an on-time return. A belated return carries the Section 234F late fee of ₹1,000 or ₹5,000.
Ready to begin?
Send us your Form 16 or property papers, and we will tell you what your Noida return needs before 31 December 2026.
