Core Banking and Member Management Features an MSCS Needs
Call it core banking or call it a society management system, the job is the same: one trusted record of every member, share, deposit and loan across all branches. Below are the features an MSCS needs, and why each one counts when the auditor arrives.

Member and share management
- A single member register with KYC details, state and branch.
- Share ledger with the subscription and any limits per member, which the Act caps at not more than one-fifth of the capital (Section 33).
- State-wise member counts, so you can show the 50 per state anytime.
Deposits
- Savings, fixed, recurring and other deposit types.
- Automatic interest accrual, maturity alerts and clear withdrawal rules.
- Passbook and statement printing.
Loans
- Multiple loan types, such as gold, property and loans against deposits.
- Repayment schedules, overdue tracking and recovery follow-up.
- Security and document records for each loan.
Accounting and reports
- Double-entry accounts that roll up from every branch.
- Trial balance, balance sheet and income statement ready for the auditor.
- Reports that feed the annual return and the statutory funds the Act requires.
Control and security
- Role-based access, with limits on who can approve a loan or edit a ledger.
- Activity logs showing who did what and when.
- Holiday calendars and IP restrictions to protect branch operations.
Field and member access
If your society works through agents or field collections, a collection app records each repayment on the spot. A member app, in turn, shows members their balances and statements. Both cut errors and member queries.
